The Cost of Inaction
Why taking inspiring action is imperative as a result of consuming inspiring content
“The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything”
― Albert Einstein
It is attractive and encouraged in many ways to take a passive approach to the transformations that we ourselves want to be capable of making in our own lives. We see something inspiring on Youtube or on the news and imagine ourselves doing what we see on the screen. In watching such content, one can feel as though they’re taking part in the feats on the screen, but in most cases – they’re not.
What you get after years of living in this way, is a lot of wasted time, and the realization that you’ve actually not moved into a better position – sitting back and watching is the name of the game that so many people want you to play, because it benefits them.
I think this could be especially important for someone that has found themselves in one way or another feeling like they’re on the sidelines of their own life while someone’s hit the mute button. Congruent Academy is all about the reaffirmation of personal agency, and so as someone who knows this position all too well – I believe that I can speak to this with some degree of nuance. And I want to make sure that we’re activating ourselves and participating in our lives as fully as we can, to live congruently. That’s what I came here to do. Action is the antidote to despair.
